sansa e280 menu/power button during playback

During playback, the menu/power button (bottom left) would take you back to the main menu and the song would continue playing, so you could play games, change settings etc. without disrupting the music. I've been updated the build regularly, about a week or so ago, pressing that button now stops the music during playback.

Is this a bug? done purposefully? is there another button I can press to get to the menu without disrupting playback?

Try the submenu button.

It was announced here in the forums, in the mailing list, and most specifically, in the changelog, that the keymap was changed. In fact, here and in the mailing list, the announcement was made a week in advance.

The new keymap is in the manual, so you can look up what the keys are supposed to do now.
