yea im going to use that option right now...
Im currently analysing my files with mp3gain and i can tell u it takes a loooong  time i was hoping to just be able to boost the range of the volume controle like in winamp where u dont have to analyse everything it takes like over an houer for my 30 files. I think that is quite much.
And for all my files like 40 gb it's going to take at least a week!
This solution is to timconsuming. thats why i asked for a simpler one.
From what i understand u have to analyze the files in order to aply this replaygain "preamp" its like a kids failsafe... u are not allowed to boost your volumen if u havnt chekt at what level it is first. it might distort... as i wouldnt notice... I think it is better to allow people to transpose the volume as they plese not onely if they have analysed the files first.
so i think a lot of people would appriciate this feture if it was possible.

mp3gain actually physically changes the gain in the mp3 file - it doesn't write ReplayGain information to the file, so you still won't be able to use ReplyGain once it's done.

First, I am going to insist that you proofread your posts and use real words instead of textspeak like "u."  Our posting guidelines require this, and they are strictly enforced.

Second, I believe that the Replaygain pre-amp setting will affect the volume of all files, regardless of whether you have scanned them on the computer and added Replaygain tags.  (I can't check this at the moment, because all of the files on my player have Replaygain tags, but perhaps someone else could confirm.)  Of course, you need to have Replaygain enabled in the Settings --> Playback --> Replaygain menu for this to work.

You can also achieve the same thing by using the "pre-cut" setting in the equalizer.

I can't make any sense of your comment about clipping.  Perhaps you could rephrase it to make it more clear.

Actually, the replaygain pre-cut won't affect all files. It's designed for, for example, putting your replaygain files at a level similar to your non-replaygained files by adjusting them without moving any that lack tags.

The precut for the equalizer on the other hand affects everything, but I can't recall if it allows positive values.
