1st problem. since my i installed rockbox, my computer doesn't recognize my ipod mini 2nd gen anymore. how do i remove it then?

my question is can you dual boot rockbox and the ipod firmware at the same time? that would be very useful, as i like the apps and the interface of rockbox, but for listening to music, i would have to go with the ipod firmware, cause i can shuffle and stuff.

Put the iPod in Disk Mode.

No

You can "shuffle and stuff" in Rockbox.  Our fine manual explains how.

Until USB support under Rockbox on the PortalPlayer based DAPs (ipods included), yes.
