iPod 2G (not nano) wont shut off
(1/1)

Greetings all
I installed rockbox on my old 2G ipod (20gb), and mostly everything seems to have gone fine. I have been able to start the device, play with settings a bit, and load up and play back .flac files (my whole reason for doing this). However I cant get it to shut off. If I hold down the play/pause button, it says "shutting down" I let the button go, and then the apple logo comes up, and rockbox reloads. This also happens when I let the device go idle, it shuts down after a minute (as per my setting), and reboots.
I have been able to hold the menu button down during the reboot to get into the apple firmware, and that seems to work fine, and I am able to shut down the system fine on that side. However, I would like to be able to start and shut down directly into rockbox, and not have to go into the apple side to shut the system down.
Looking through the forums it appears that some others have had similar issues, though the final result seems to be along the lines of "never mind, fixed it" with no explanation as to what was done to resolve the issue. I have been playing with this for quite awhile now, and have yet to find a method that actually shuts the thing down from rockbox. Any help would be fantastic.
Thanks

A quick forum search brings up the following post Re: 1g Ipod won't shut down - it is still valid.
