Drag and Drop?
« on: November 11, 2007, 03:58:28 PM »
Hi i just finished installing rockbox succesfully but im wondering how would i drag and drop the songs so its on my player because its not working from itunes.

Would i just go to my limewire files and then drag them to the folder that lists my songs.
But the problem is if i do have to do that i don't know where my songs are located for rockbox.
Lol please help...

Put the player into diskmode (an option in itunes I think), then drag and drop when you can see it as a disk.

Ok i found my limewire songs...  I found my ipod and i went to folder (.rockbox)
But im searching through there to find where my songs are listed and i can't.

Before i installed rockbox i would just put my songs from limewire into itunes and the ipod would
sync it.
But now that i have rockbox installed it doesn't work anymore so im trying to found out where the song files are located on the folder .rockbox so i can drag and drop.

Hope it made sense...

Also yeah it was already in disk mode

See the "database" section of the manual for how to find songs iTunes syncs.

Rockbox displays the filetree. The .rockbox folder is hidden if you're in "Supported" for File View mode (again covered in the manual). Put the songs you want in any folder, and simply browse to them, putting them in the .rockbox folder just makes them harder to get to.

I looked and couldn't really find it... ???
My ipod is a nano 1st generation.
If you could post a picture that shows me step by step that would help i just don't understand most of the words your saying.
When i first got rockbox working only my old songs were there not the ones i put from limewire into itunes.
So yeah a picture or video or anything else other that the manual would really help.

Which words don't you understand? Searching for both "Database" and "File View" in the manual will help you with those... Other than that, "filetree" just means "the files that are on your player".
