You will not. But viewports will work as margins for scrolling for the same effect.

Would be nice if it could read the file using some rule...
For example: %a - %t.bmp (artist - songtitle.bmp)

I've been using AutoLyrix do download lyrics/album art and it works just fine with iTunes... besides, it works on Linux (with Mono). The problem is: AutoLyrix saves the album art + lyric using the mp3tags...
If someone could patch this... would be great!

PS.: I think AutoLyrix should be added in the wiki's albumart page.

Nobody is stopping you from adding it. Just register to the wiki and then go in IRC in #rockbox and ask for write privileges. Also read this page and it will tell you what code means what. http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/CustomWPS Is that what you were talking about?

For consistency's sake, if a patch isn't to be included, it should be rejected. It's the Rockbox tracker, not the "Everyone's build's patch tracker."

Agreed. If people wish to maintain a patch that isn't ever likely to be included in the core of Rockbox, then set up your own tracker somewhere else to maintain it. That's the beauty of open source people. You want a version of Rockbox which does "X", but which the people at Rockbox clearly don't want? Fork. Make your own project based on Rockbox, and maintain it somewhere else.

  • ROCKbox for purchasable devices should be the goal

It finally happened:
Album Art has been committed  8-)

A big thanks to Nicolas and everybody else who was able to support the patch for such a long time until it finally got official part of Rockbox.
I had to stop my Rockbox activities for lack of time - but I'm still reading here (not very often, but sometimes)

So the next step would IMHO be to (re)implement an appropriate resizing mechanism... ;)

with regards,
Matthias

looks like album art won't work on the sansa c200 series (until re-sizing is possible) since album art is fixed at 100x100 pixels and the c200 has a 132x80 screen?

Where did you read that?
Of course you can have albumart smaller than 100x100.

Never mind, read the wiki wrong.

There should soon be a flood of new and updated wps themes uploaded soon (I hope).

I have updated the ipod video themes Black Glass AA and Cobalt to work without any patches so long as you have 100x100 album art. hopefully resizing will be committed soon. I will do more of the album art themes later today and they wont have to take as long now that i have an updated simulator and dont have to use my actual player :D.  i can do the gigabeat themes also but my main concern are the ipod video themes as this is the player i have. the gigabeat is second for me because i will hopefully be getting one of these soon.

hopefully resizing will be committed soon.
Are you aware that you can have the Albumart present in multiple resolutions (like cover.75x75.bmp, cover.100x100.bmp, ...) on your target? I personally prefer doing the resizing on the PC side because there you'll propably achieve much better results than on the target (where this task will be optimized for speed rather than quality).
