To be specific, iTunes songs which have not been purchased as DRM Free will not play in Rockbox. The DRM un-encumbered songs from iTunes will work just fine.

ok..so....the songs on iTunes that were 99cents will work, but not the ones that are $1.30 won't work...?

No, the opposite.  $.99 songs are DRM protected and will not work.  The $1.29 songs are DRM-free and will work.
