Connecting ipod to comp. and itunes while ipod is using rockbox ?

If my ipod is currently using rockbox can i connect it to my computer and itunes or do i have to boot the ipod to the apple software in order to connect and add music in itunes?

If a USB connection is detected the iPod gets restarted in Apple's Disk Mode.  Transfers are apparently faster if connection is made through Apple's firmware, however.

Yes, this is true. The OF appears to transfer at full USB 2.0 speed, while Disk Mode is quite slow... about equivalent to USB 1.1 speed.
