I think I messed up my C250... help?
b00h:
Hello everyone.
I attempted to install the Rockbox firmware on my C250 player using the manual installation method (since the GUI didn't detect my device). Anyway, my first mistake was that I installed the boot loader, but I didn't copy the firmware itself. Thus, it didn't work, and somehow I managed to switch to the original firmware. My second mistake was that I copied the content of the folder .rockbox, but not the folder itself. So, I got a few error messages, one of them was "installation incomplete", then I saw a few splashes of codes or something, then my player turned itself off. Now I can't manage to turn it on.
Please tell me there's a way to recover my MP3. If there is, what should I do? Thanks in advance!
b00h:
Well, somehow I managed to turn it on again... I don't know how exactly, but I simply pushed the "power" button and kept holding it, while pressing on the different direction keys. So, what now? ;D
GodEater:
Boot it into the original firmware, and copy the .rockbox folder on...
b00h:
Yeah, I did that, sorry... what I meant was that what I'm supposed to do next. Well I'm starting to get the hang of it. I tried reading the manual but... I don't know, it's not really useful. Anyway, I've got a question. I changed the language to another language, and everything became gibberish, and not the language I selected. Why is that? Am I supposed to install it separately, then load it?
LambdaCalculus:
How is the manual not useful? Is there a section that you don't understand? Please explain; maybe we can help clarify it for you.
Which language did you switch to? Some languages (Russian, Greek, Chinese, etc.) rely on certain characters which may not be present in all fonts. You can, however, clear the language settings by hooking your Sansa to your PC (in the OF), and deleting the /.rockbox/config.cfg file.
