mpeg size
newt:
I seem to be getting videos to play correctly with almost no skipping, I just make the fps smaller. Shouldn't the video file size go down too? If it was at 25 fps and I converted it to 10 fps with mediacoder, shouldnt' the file size drop less than half the original file size? When i converted an .flv to mpg with 25 fps it was about 42 mb, when i converted the same .flv to mpg with 10 fps it was about 39 mb. Anyone know how I can make the file size less?
Chronon:
Change the video bitrate too. If you multiply the audio and video bitrate by the duration of your file and sum these numbers this should approximate to the size of your file in bits.

thanks I'm getting the hang of it
btw I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but it would be a lot better with mpeg playlists. :) And also good job to all of the mpeg devs, you guys are doing a great job. It can't be an easy thing to do keep at it :)
Chronon:
At the moment .mpeg playback is done through a viewer (a class of plugin). It's not integrated into the core playback mechanism in the way that audio playback is. This makes handling of video playlists (as well as shuffling, repeating, etc.) problematic at the moment.
Anyone have more detailed info on this?

Chronon I just tested again. I have two videos with similar size but one is 25 fps and one is 12 fps. Shouldn't the 12 fps one be at least half the size of the 25 fps video? I'm guessing converting doesn't cut out unneeded frames, is this true? Can I say keep my 12 fps one then when mpeg player gets better and convert it back to 25 fps?
