sansa c200 tuner problems

(1/1)

lerklompen:
yesterday i received a brand new sansa c240 (my old one had a failure in the volume knob, so i got a new one on the warranty from the store).

(this is the "european" version sold "without tuner")

the tuner worked just fine on the old player, and i tried to move ".rockbox" to the new one. i discovered that the presets i had made nolonger worked, and after looking in to this deeper it seems as if what is reported as current frequency on the tuner page has nothing to do with what is actually tuned in. i have tried a clean install, and removed all presets, etc.

example: if i tune in 107.00 mhz, no station is heard. if i continue until 107.05 and go back to 107.00, i am suddenly tuned in to a station which actually is at the frequency 87.95 (i can also check the actual frequency from the debug-menu). this continues -  if i search forth and back i get random frequencies and stations. it doesn't seem to do no good saving these presets because they might not be tuned when i open them again.

could it be that there is a newer/different tuner chip in my new sansa? the debug menu is showing the actual frequencies though. what might be causing this strange behaviour?

lowlight:
This is a known issue with the c200 series.

I don't think there's a different chip, but feel free to tear apart your c240 and check (the chip should be marked v24020)  ;)

The tuner is the same as in the e200 series which works fine, afaik. Most likely, there is something slightly different that we don't yet account for.
