e280 2gb microsd-separate-folder-browsing question
(1/1)
bennetron:
Hi... A couple of days ago I sucessfully rockboxed my 8gb e280r, and am very happy with it so far... but there's one (and only one) aspect of the original firmware that I'm missing.
I suppose this might be a side effect of my favorite thing about Rockbox--that it uses a file-tree/folder method of browsing, rather than the pain-in-the-ass-ID tag one that was forcing me to constantly tag mp3s into albums... But, with the original firmware, I could browse through a combined/alphabetized list of albums that compiled the enitre contents of the 2gb microsd with the regular 8gb into a single list of albums. Now--unless there's something I'm missing--I need to browse the 2gb and the 8gb separately, rather than being able to browse through and choose an album from a list that shows all the lps (or 'folders') on my player. Perhaps this is a minor point, but since--when I'm deciding what album to listen to I don't care which card it's on--having to browse through the 8gb, go back to the menu, then browse through the 2gb separately is a minor annoyance.
But maybe there is a way to browse through all the folders on the player that I don't know?
thanks,
b
JdGordon:
use the database view
GodEater:
Yes, but that's the only place to see all content on your player in one tree.
You can't do it from the file viewer.
bennetron:
Ok... so there's no way to see all the 'folders' on the two 8gb and 2gb at at once, only all the id-tagged albums, right?
GodEater:
Correct.
