Windows thinks my nano's unformatted, but rockbox can still play from it

(1/1)

JaffaTheCake:
I installed the lastest 'current build' onto my 1st gen nano yesterday from a much older (months older) version I had previously.

When I got home, I plugged the nano into my PC and Windows thinks it's unformatted. I can't access anything on it. I've tried using disk mode and booting into standard ipod mode, same happens. Also tried on multiple machines.

However, rockbox can still play music that's on there, so it's obviously formatted fine.

Any ideas?

Jake.

JdGordon:
I had the same problem, i cant remember if linux mounted it or not, but i ended up just formatting as i had all the music on the hard disk anyway. BUT... it may be related to the suspected ata timing issues which are happening on some nanos, and if that is the case then even formatting in windows could stop it mouting again later.

JaffaTheCake:
Ok, I'll reformat it. Is there a safer version of Rockbox to download until the problems are resolved?
