"ghost" files in 5.5G 80gb iPod Vid
(1/1)
kedz83:
I addded all my unsorted songs to iTunes one day out of boredom. I realized that those songs were doubled on the database, not the file browser. I deleted them from iTunes, but it's still there! I found extra files that I wasnt sure of on the filebrowser that looked suspicious, since it wasnt in the rockbox folder. I deleted them, but the files were still there. I added select songs from various sorted albums to the iTunes database, and the same thing occured. How can I eliminate these strange occurences? I'd like an accurate count of files, plus I don't know how that affects shuffling. And I checked the path of both files, and they're the same. i've deleted the database file, re-initilized it, and still no fix.
Please help!
thank you.
GodEater:
Have you deleted the contents of the ipod_control folder ?
bascule:
Try running the disktidy plugin, which will remove any files sitting around in a 'recycle bin' or similar...

I think I might have deleted the ipod_control folder. I did check for hidden files, but can't remember exactly what I left alone and what I deleted.
And I would definitely love the disktidy plugin. I would ask, but I'm pretty sure I could find it myself.
I still use the original iPod firmware to play videos.
On a side note, would rockbox detect the music that's loaded on the official iPod firmware? just wondering since if ity doesn't, I might as well use it for easy access to songs, and for friends that don't care for rockbox nor having the intention to learn how to use it.
Chronon:
Disktidy should be pretty easy to find. It should be in the applications submenu of the plugins menu.
Rockbox will find all supported media and catalog them according to stored metadata.
