no the time works fine its the background that doesnt work. the images are the correct size. its just the background thats not displaying.

Break it down.  Strip out everything but the background.  Set this as your WPS:

Really, just that.  If that works (shows your background) then add all the text without the bitmaps.

If that works, add the bitmaps in one or two at a time.

At some point, you'll have a problem, and then you can work on it with a smaller set of things that could go wrong.

If the background doesn't show on the first one, then you can be pretty sure that it's the bitmap.

you are correct but you can use a command to check a wps for errors
