iPod Nano 1g + new daily build (r15436 ) = problems
« on: November 03, 2007, 04:55:46 PM »
Hi!

I had some old daily build (I don't remember exact number of version, but I downloaded it 4 months ago) on my iPod Nano 1g - everything works well.

Two days ago, I download fresh rockbox from "current build" - r15436. Now my iPod works faster, than with previous version (r?????), but sometimes some problems take place. Sometimes music just mutes, but display shows, that music is playing: stop - resume - solves the problem. And where is "Buffer Lenght" preset in r15436?

The buffering system recently underwent a large rewrite.  If you can find a reliable way to reproduce the problem then you can file a bug report -- see the link to the left.

Be aware that a subset of nanos have had issues with playback as discussed here: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=11817.0

It might be worth installing a build just before the Metadata on Buffer commit to see if playback works properly for you.  This will give a good idea of whether or not this behavior has to do with the MoB changes or possibly with the issues discussed in the topic I linked above.  Though, from what you've said it seems more likely to be the buffering code.
