Installing RB on a formatted Ipod

Hi.

I'm trying to install rockbox on a totally formatted Ipod 5.5G. Without itunes on it or any other file. Just a clean Ipod which I formatted in windows, clean 30G. I try to do that because the Itunes makes me some troubles with the Itunes and I try some alternatives.

The problem occurs when I try to install the Ipod Patcher. It doesn't find the Ipod. Is there a way to install the installer without the Ipod having any files on it or by creating directories on the ipod and making the patcher think that is an ipod with itunes?

Thanks.

You don't have the Apple firmware on your iPod. Restore it using iTunes, then try reinstalling.

I know that. I want to install rockbox without the Ipod having the original apple firmware on it 'cause it makes problems on my Ipod. I want to know is there a way to do it without the firmware...

linuxstb:
No - the Rockbox install utilities all assume a working ipod.  They modify the existing firmware partition to insert the Rockbox bootloader.

As has been said, restore your ipod, then you can install Rockbox.

What problems are these ?
