ok I'll start from scratch.. I was following a tutorial on how to make a play list for rockbox..It told me to locate the .root file after making it.. so dumb me, i thought this meant to check the disk drive folder(so i turned it off). Than i tried the menu and select to turn back on, and the apple logo showed and just froze their... so i than decided to shut off again, but this time it wouldn't reboot.  Than after i started the topic about my problem... So i was informed to charge it for a couple of hours.. i did it all night actually, with nothing showing on the ipod even the do not disconnect sign. Thats where i stand now, that it wont turn on just a blank dead screen. I appreciate all the help!

Chronon:
Can you tell me where this tutorial is located?

I think our prime task is to boot your player.  If you charged it all night then it should be ready to turn on.  You didn't mention how long you held the key combination.  Sometimes it can take quite a long time.  Also, make sure you don't move your fingers at all while holding the keys.  It can help to put the iPod down on a flat surface and then do the key combination; wiggling your finger can cause the key combo not to register properly.

i held the combo for a good minute and a half. still nothing.. but like i said before, i did put it to be charged, but the do not disconnect sign wasn't coming up or anything.. It wont turn on at all.........................EDIT!!!!

:::Made my index fingers soar by holding it down for over a minute, and the apple logo popped up and rockbox said battery dead.. So now its in disk mode charging!! Weird thing is though i don't why it wouldn't turn on the other days when i held the key combos.. Thanks for the help guys!!

Chronon:
Hmph.  That is definitely irregular.  However, if something different has happened then it's probably worth trying a restore in iTunes.  It could be that you're seeing a hardware failure.  But I hope not.

nanoguy:
no its working fine now.. i just think it needed to drain the battery, and than charge up. Its back to normal, thanks for all the help again!
