need help with ipod 1st gen

ry:
my ipod had  rockbox on it but i did not like it  point is, i deleted the extracted files from my disk mode, but now when it boots it says, "loading rock box...
ERROR!
(buncha info about rockbox version)
press MENU+Select to reboot, then Select+PLAY to access disk mode.
but when it  connected my computer says  usb device not  recognized

need help

Did you hold MENU+SELECT to reboot, and then (immediately after it starts to reboot) press and hold SELECT+PLAY?

Chronon:
The bootloader is still installed.  You need to follow the uninstall instructions in the manual.
