I need a step by step install help from you guys

I tried following the install guides and sansa patcher and the utility nothing seems to work. I don't want to brick my e260 even though its over a year old :P

I go through the utility and download everything and install itall, but when i disconnect the player it always boots in the normal firmware. I also read somewhere you have to add some mi4 thing into the 16mb recovery mode, and i did, but someone else said don't touch anything in that, so i guess i'm lucky it works at all.

Anyway i must be missing a step or something so all helpis appreciated.
