rate songs option not functioning for sansa e280 (current build)

Hi all, first post, thanks for any help...

i've initialized the database and enabled 'collect runtime data.' the option to rate a song is shown in the menu but i can't change it from zero. none of the buttons do a darn thing (including the intended right (FF) button).

not a huge deal, just wondering if anyone's got any suggestions,.

weird...i just found a single song that i can rate. no other songs have worked as of yet (they're all mp3s).

now all the songs seem to be accepting ratings. i did download the newer build yesterday, but even right after the installation the ratings weren't working. but now the ratings seem to be going fine.

That is what the modify button is for.  It isn't upsetting me, it is just a matter of sticking to the posting guidelines.
