He can't PM you for another day or two, he got himself banned again. What many of you don't see is the removed posts from when he decided to spam this in every board on the forum (which got him his first ban) and when he used inappropriate language and told me clearly that he was not going to follow the forum guidelines because he did in fact, in no uncertain terms, feel they didn't apply to him if he didn't agree with him (which got him a second ban, and an explanation that if he doesn't want them to apply to him, he's more than likely to leave.)

When he returns, hopefully he'll realize that it's easier for everyone if he simply follows what are relatively simple rules in the first place. I don't want to have to, but spamming every board is a significant problem in the first place, and really third strike will be "he's out" especially considering his very clear sentiments on rules.

Llorean is the admin for a reason, with all the stuff that has to be controlled in rockbox and all the things that go on daily, there is no time to remeber individual users or tolerate offenses. rockbox is a wonderful project that the public has the privialge to use and because of the many admins and mods like llorean its a great place to come to to share ideas and get help, which is why the rockbox project is expanding and why there are more and more users everyday

I do try to be somewhat tolerant. New users are expected to read the guidelines, but I rarely delete first posts that violate a guideline unless it's spam, illegal, or otherwise mandates change. I'm perfectly willing to accept people who don't know the rules at first, even though we make it clear in the signup screen that they're enforced heavily.

But in all honesty, the only mitigation is "I didn't know." And that doesn't last beyond the first time an admin says "You need to read the guidelines." Because I really, really can't choose to enforce the rules less harshly when someone was "just trying to be helpful" and more harshly when they're not, because then it leaves it up to my opinion whether or not rules get enforced. And they need to be enforced as objectively as I can. That ends up meaning that whether I like an idea or not, if something in the post breaks the rules, I'm going to say so, and if I need to remove or change the post.

Of course some people take this personally, and I can't help that. The rules are posted, and at least in my mind, you make a choice to break the rules knowing what the consequence is. So, the person who knowingly posts a rule-violating post chose to have it changed or remove. It wasn't a choice I made to enforce the rules, as so long as they're there I *have* to. Yes, I'm a human being and I can choose not to enforce them, strictly speaking, but at that point I may as well be replaced with someone who will enforce them evenly.

I'll stop enforcing them when they change, and then I'll enforce the new ones. :) So, remember, for the people upset with how I enforce the rules: Call me on it if I enforce something that's not written in the rules, and suggest new rules if you don't like the current ones (but remember they're there for a reason), but please, please don't complain about me enforcing the ones that ARE there. I didn't write all of them, and my job isn't to pick and choose who gets to slip past them, it's just to try to enforce them where possible.

It is a shame that he got himself banned.

The themes are very well done

However, I did modify the WPS screen to include Album information, and I replaced the 128KPS indicator in the bottom left corner with a playlist indicator (e.g. 120/500)

Again, the beauty of Rockbox is its ability to customize to your own tastes.

The ACOTIL format is a great starting point. and provides a very nice clean WPS screen to display your info.

When the ban expires he's welcome to come back as long as he's willing to play by the rules. As he agreed to them during registration, you'd think he'd be willing, but apparently some peoples' word isn't worth anything these days. ;)
