Help - My toshiba's stuck

(1/1)

jeromeg:
Hi there,

I've just put Rockbox on my GB and I wanted to improve it a bit trying to install the bootsplash. No luck for me, now I just can't start it again. The loading screen appears, yes, but the progress bar stuck in the middle.

I've read a old topic on this subject and I've tried to hold Menu while booting but no result.

I really dont know what to do.

I've got a fealing i've just trash it.

Thanks.

Phalangees:
Are you talking about changing the bootsplash with the firmware hacks? Or the rockbox bootsplash?

jeromeg:
Sorry of being not so clear but I'll tell you what I've done.

I've download a file GBsystem.zip about 6mo and I've put it in my gigabeat like it was written.

It was some .dat file in FWIMG folder.

I think the exact term was'nt bootsplash, but bootloaders...

Chronon:
Are you saying that you already had a working installation of Rockbox and then you changed the bootloader?  Where did you get the zip that you downloaded?  Please be precise in your wording.  Bootsplash is very different from bootloader.

Phalangees:
Ah I see. You've installed an outdated bootloader. It's very fixable but it's not a fun process. You have to do a hotswap. First of all, download the correct bootloader from http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/gigabeat/FWIMG01.DAT. Then follow the procedures listed here: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GigabeatFXPort#Gigabeat_Recovery_Procedures. When you can access the gigabeat, put the new bootloader in GBSYSTEM->FWIMG.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.
