Rockboy questions
« on: October 25, 2007, 01:10:25 AM »
Sorry if this has been asked before...

1. Is it possible to play your own music while playing Rockboy? THe sound is choppy when playing GB/GBC games and would rather just mute it there and listen to some KanYe or something while playing

2. The controls are weird and i did custom them.. BUt like, it responds to the touch wheel and not the 'click'. Is this changable or is it just blarg...

Thanks... These would make me fall in love with Rockboy if you could

1)  No, rockboy needs more resources than would be available if you were playing sound too.  I'm guessing you are using an iPod?  I did think that you could disable sound in rockboy though?

2) You can't click the corners of the iPod scroll wheel easily, so the only way to play is to just touch them instead.

Actually, there are only 4 push buttons on the scroll wheel (+1 button at the center).  There's nothing to click at the corners.

This means that there are not enough push buttons to map the buttons of the Gameboy to.  Rockboy is responding to the capacitive sensor, not a button press, for those controls (i.e. A, B, Start and Select).

I haven't used Rockboy on an iPod in quite a while, but I thought that pressing the Left or Right buttons performed a distinct action from simply touching the wheel at those positions (a combination of movement + A, if I recall correctly).

Should've added "Unless you want to damage the scroll wheel" to my previous post. :)

Personally, with the scroll wheel, and only four buttons in the cardinal directions (plus SELECT), I don't really like using Rockboy on the iPod at all.
