(1/2) > >>

brainwashed:
i just wanted to know if a rockbox for ipod 2G is coming and if yes, when?

or can i use the software for ipod 1G on my ipod 2G?
could it be destroy my ipod or anything else?

LambdaCalculus:
If this is about the 2nd gen nano, then it may be a long time. Don't hold your breath.

If it's about the 2nd gen classic model (Firewire only), then yes, we support that model.

And if this is a nano related question, then the 1st gen port absolutely will not work on a 2nd gen nano.

We're beyond the point of ad infinitum with the frequency of this question.

brainwashed:
sorry i forgot to write!   its a ipod nano 2nd gen...

so its lookin bad right?

LambdaCalculus:
The site's front page explicitly states which devices we support.

Ports are not planned, nor do they have deadlines. We work on what we want to work on.

I could repeat so many things that have been stated on these forums until I'm blue in the face, but I'm not about to. Simply put: we don't know when or IF we'll ever support the 2nd gen nano, and asking, begging, and bitching about it isn't going to make it happen any faster. If you want to use Rockbox, go out and look for one of the supported devices listed on the front page.

brainwashed:  People get frustrated when you don't use the search function as required by the posting guidelines, especially when the same question gets asked repeatedly.

If someone with the time and skills works on the newer iPods it may happen.  However, the firmware is encrypted and the hardware is completely new.  As Lamda says, ports aren't planned by the rockbox "team", they are done by interested owners with help where possible from existing devs.
