Gigabeat Flash Drive
scharkalvin:
Actually I think the 1.8" hard disks have the same connector / pinout as PCMA cards. There are adapters that accept CF modules to plug into PCMA slots. Not sure if one of those would work here. The link I posted to ebay is for a device that will work, and the link to the CF module is one that I tried in an iPod mini that works.

Ahh I am reallly confused...
So what adapter DO you need to get a CF card or a SSD to work with the gigabeat f** series?
scharkalvin:
The ebay link that I posted earlier will do the trick. It makes the CF card
look like the same Toshibia hard disk that is used in most iPods as was used in the Gigabeat. This MAY be the same pinout as an PCMA card (or not), but what I meant was that the PCMA cards are about the same size as 1.8" hard disks.
rosco_pc:
PCMCIA cards (old standard) or PC cards (newer standard) have a similar form factor, but are slightly smaller AND have a different, 68 pins, connector. So no they can not be used (this can easily be googled).
You need an adapter as the ebay one pointed out by scharkalvin.
vexecuter:
Cool thanks guys.:-)
Aren't SD cards the same as SSD NAND disks? What's the difference?
