Cannot get access to Sandisk Sansa e270

My Laptop says "unknoiwn device" and I have no driveletter.

Do I have to install the sandisk software ? How to get data-access?

Did you put it in MSC mode as stated you're required to do so in section 2.3.2 of the manual ?

Can i leave it at MSC-Mode ? Or is MTP required for .rockbox?

MTP is not required - just leave it as MSC.

And always read the manual first - not random forum postings :)
