I'm deeply concerned
« on: October 22, 2007, 05:28:24 PM »
My 2nd generation iPod mini 4Gb with Rockbox on it was updating database. And i accidentally switched it off. Before shutting down a sign with battery and exclamation mark appeared. And from then and until now I can't switch my iPod on.

Can anybody tell me what's happened?

The battery is drained.  Plug it into a wall charger for a day or so and then it should work.

Reset the Ipod and possibly give it a long charge. This is a known issue with the Apple bootup that detects a wrong battery value sometimes.

In my case, resetting always helped.

The problem is that is doesn't respond to any button pressing or charging.

No - the problem is that it doesn't LOOK like it does.

Leave it on charge, preferably using a wall charger. Leave it for at least a *day*. Not an hour, or two - but twenty four.

Because the battery is drained.  Charge it and then it will.
