follow playlist doesn't work
GKellerer:
Hi, i am using an Archos Jukebox Recorder v1 with a built from the beginning of October. the follow playlist option does not work. i am often listening to audio books with more directories an dbecause of this i selected autochange directory option. when i listen to my book the file browser still remains on the first book or - when i select a diferent location it still is on the selected file when i stop. Is this a bug or exists any workaround for that?
Thanks for your Help,
Georg

This is a known issue: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/7334 mentions it.
I don't think it's ever worked since the auto-change directory option was introduced, sadly.

Is this only broken on the Archos range then? Because follow playlist works fine for me with Auto-change directory turned on...
pixelma:
No, it doesn't work correctly on all players. What probably caused the confusion here is that it is only halfway broken or halfway working - depends on your point of view. ;)
"Follow playlist" works as long as the music is playing or paused - but it does not work when playback is fully stopped (as the bug report pondlife mentioned states). When stopped you'll be dropped back to the last selected track or when you haven't selected anything since the last reboot and just resumed then you'll end up in the root directory.
I hope this bug will be fixed one day (though it already exists for a while) but currently there is no way around this, that I know of.

Hm, perhaps it would be enough to remove "audio_status() &&" from line 99 in apps/root_menu.c... If so, the bug has been around at least since the root menu was introduced.
