g00f:
Well, lo and behold finally another firmware to use... i stopped hoping around 2 years ago... thanks DEV's !!!!!
Heres the steps I performed;
Extracted RockBox to my root folder on my ipod.... ./rockbox/
ran ipodpatcher with recognized the firewire ipod and stated it successfully patched it
rebooted the ipod but just keep getting different errors
Did this 3 times with different computers.... still no luck
ERRRORS:
besides hangin on the front RockBox Screen Logo alot I also get...
*panic*
Stkov
Prefetch abort
RT3840008
But now it just hangs on the ROCKBOX LOGO... any suggestions?
AlexP:
For a start the directory is .rockbox - note the full stop there, it is important.
Where did you get iPodpatcher from and what version is it?
g00f:
sorry, yes I have the proper .rockbox folder.
ipodpatcher v2.0 with v2.0 bootloaders.
I will try on another system today and see if that works instead, can someone confirm that rockbox does indeed install and work on a 2nd Gen ipod.
thanks
GodEater:
The developer who made it happen confirmed that when he put it on the "supported" list on the front page.
We're not in the habit of saying we support things when we've never even tried them you know ;)
yapper:
It does work ;)
I've got it running on two 2nd gen (old firewire) ipods ... one is a 10 gig and the other a 20 gig.
