Bootloader problem in e250
« on: October 21, 2007, 05:17:44 PM »
so i installed the rockbox bootloader for my sansa, but after doing so i forgot to put rockbox in and unplugged the sansa from my computer. Then i turned on my sansa and i see the bootloader work, and it obviously does not load rockbox because rockbox is not in there...i restart the sansa and hold the rewind key, the bootloader tries to start up the original firmware but it says that it can't load from partition and underneath it says "bad cheksum" and it also says that it can't load "system/Of.mi4" and "system/Of.bin" because the files are not found. The mp3 then automatically shuts down. While the sansa is off, I connect it to my computer again and it starts up, but it displays the same message and shuts down.

Can anyone help me fix this problem, please? Right now all my mp3 can do is display that message and shut down...

P.S: I'm sorry if the solution to this problem has been already posted. I don't have the time to look through this forum so please...bare with me.

Saying your time is more valuable than anyone else is not a good way to get help. Ignoring the rules because you're in a hurry is a worse way.

The mp3 then automatically shuts down.
A file format can shut down? I'm baffled.

OK since neither the rockbox firmware or the original firmware work. The mp3 shuts off. As if it crashes or something.

so ... have you searched the forums and checked the manual and website now, as the forum guidelines require you to do?

bluebrother, I think by "mp3" he means his Sansa. So no, it's not a magical MP3 file than can shut down players.

Well, and why don't you use the proper term then? Using improper terms can only cause confusion. (And yes, I had an idea what you're referring to)

"bad checksum" usually indicates that you either installed the wrong build or something went wrong when installing the build.

Our posting guidelines require you to use real words. "Plz" is not a real word. So while you already showed quite some ignorance with your first post (which was noticed by Llorean) I'd really suggest you to do your homework and follow our guidelines first.
