Battery Life
« on: October 20, 2007, 07:12:56 PM »
I've installed rockbox on my iRiver H20. Since I have the battery lasts for around 2hrs playback, approx. 1/3 of the life prior to rockbox.

Anyone else noticed this?

The battery life remaining estimate isn't accurate on the H10, so you can ignore that number.

is this the same on ipod nano? cause I've got this too on my nano, and if I'm using rockbox, will my battery drain quicker then with the Apple OS? If I mainly listen to music that is..

Could you please demonstrate that you've at least attempted to search the forums before you post something like this ?

Both this topic, and your other one have come up so many times before I've lost count.

well, as it is rockbox has slightly lower batterty life than the OF. the reason you only get 2 hours is probably due to your battery weakening. do a battery bench and determine what the precisce battery lifetime is

The rudeness of many responces here never ceeses to astound me. The time it took you to write that, you could have helped answer the guys question. This is a help FORUM right? If you don't want to help, don't respond at all then.

I have answered his question. Many many many times before. That's why there's a search feature on the forum. If I keep answering questions repeatedly, then no-one ever learns to search, and the forums just fill up with repetitive stuff and cease being useful.

If you don't want to follow the forum RULES, don't post at all then. See, I can capitalize words too, and I have a bigger stick.

It's pretty simple, we require people to search, because we want people to search first and then ask. Because the time it takes to read all the posts here increases. Less posts that repeat the exact same question means more likelihood that the experts find new questions to answer rather than rewriting the same old stuff. So any time an old question pops up, they'll be told to follow the rules, because it helps ensure new questions get answers, helps ensure the search is less likely to get cluttered, and while doesn't necessarily improve the friendliness, actually improves the odds of useful information getting distributed.

Sorry, but I think responces like that only add to the traffic and makes it harder for anyone to find answers. This is coming from someone new to the forum who finds many posts with similar questions that I have, and then all the responces are "read the manual" or "search first". How does that help?

I'm going to lock this now before it gets out of hand.  These arguments happen from time to time, you can search for previous ones if you wish.

Suffice to say rules are rules whether you agree or not, and unless they change please respect them.

It helps because when you see "Read the manual" then you know that you TOO should've read the manual.
