better theme?

Is there a better layout or something for rockbox, cuz I all get is a plain list. is there anything where i can make the GUI better?

Yep, you can install some themes.  Go to this page and select your player.  It will take you to a gallery complete with screenshots and descriptions where you can download the ones you like.

I just created a bunch of themes for the Sansa E200 series.  The theme name is ACOTIL (A Combo Of Themes I Like), but more on that in another topic.   :)

The original post was quite obviously in the wrong board. Sorry for the inconvenience while moving this topic, to make up for it I'll answer the question.

You can customise the menu with colours, a different font, icons and a backdrop; basically it stays a list though.

Search around in the forums, the wiki and the manual for information on "how to". And please read the posting guidelines you agreed on when registering again, especially where a topic belongs and the use of real words, they also explain the reasoning behind them.

Here are some examples of a few of the themes I've created.  Like pixelma said, I've improved the menu by adding a backdrop (background images), icons, and a different font.  I also designed the player too.

No, but a lot of the ones listed in the section for you player at http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/WpsGallery will.  Stick to the ones that say they need a current daily build.

Those only effect the player skin? I mean't like changing the main menu screen.

its not called a skin its called a theme.  look at the link that yotto sent and you will see that it changed the background, fonts, colors, and icons.

ONE_HUMAN, I don't know why but I tried to upload a theme. The website eventually sent me a email saying it was copyrighted.  As far as I see it, your windows media player themes are copyrighted too. I mean Microsoft (Everything is copyrighted). Do you have any idea why your themes got uploaded and not mine?

The theme in question was rejected due to numerous technical issues with the posted files...

In addition, as the images were related to HalfLife, the question was asked if YOU had created them, or had simply 'borrowed' them from somewhere else.  In the case of the former, they are original work, and you *can* licence them (Like the MS mediaplayer controls in a number of themes), in the second case you would need to show that the source of these images allowed them to be licenced CC-BY-SA
