I liled my iPod Video

I'm sorry for my bad english, it because i'm from Russia

So, here is my problem: i tried to install rockbox to my iPod Video 30 Gb. I know, that is my fail, but i started do it not by instruction. So, the final resault: my iPod do not turn on. There is only Apple Logo, and nothing else...  It is imposable to activate disk mode, the computer do not responce iPod. iTunes also... when i press hold button there is message something like bla bla bla, rockbox was not found, or something like it. so iPod try to load rockbox, wich is not in my iPod.

repair will cost about 300$... i bought it in usa for 250$...

1.  It is ALWAYS possible to activate disk mode unless your player is physically broken.  If you haven't succeeded, you are not doing it right.

2.  Please post the EXACT error message, not "bla bla bla."

Sounds like you forgot to extract the Rockbox build to your device. Reset your iPod by holding MENU+SELECT; when it reboots, immediately hold SELECT+PLAY until you get into disk mode.

Like Febs said, "bla bla bla" doesn't help us. Please tell us exactly WHAT your error messages are.

i can't say text of error because iPod is in repair service... i'll get it in one or two days...

disk mode dosen't work... it is posible only to reset it... i tried to do it so many times... =(

yep, that's right... there is on my iPod only rockbox loader...
a read instruction on russian web-site... it discriped do it by cmd... but i start *.exe file...

Rockbox has a dual-boot feature. To boot into the original firmware, shut down the device as described above. Turn on the Hold switch immediately after turning the player on. Once Rockbox displays the message “Loading original firmware ...” you may turn the Hold switch off. Rockbox will boot into the original firmware.

if this is what you mean, will it work?)) because i told you there is not rockbox on my iPod... i jusr run ipodpatcher.exe file... so i think there is only boot loader in ipod....

sorry for newbie question... but i realy need yours help...

Nothing that you do while installing Rockbox can prevent disk mode from working.

Either your iPod hardware has failed, or you are not doing disk mode right. What, EXACTLY, are you doing, and have you ever used disk mode before?

i rebooting it, than i pressing select+play.... i waiting fo 2-3 minutes, buy there is only Apple Logo on my screen...
i've never used disk mode before...

You need to hold down select and play.

First, hold menu+select. As soon as the screen goes blank, very quickly hold Select and Play. Hold them down soon enough, and keep holding them, and the disk mode should start.

Another option is to hold Menu + Select, and as soon as the screen clears, turn on the Hold switch, and leave it turned on.
