WPS will not display

After not having a problem with Rockbox since I was last on these forums about a year ago, I now have a WPS problem. It started probably 2 months ago after updating (using Darky's build off of Misticriver). All parts of .cfg files as well as themes will load except for the WPS itself. The fonts, backdrops, icons, etc. all display correctly. I even created a few .cfg files in Notepad to attempt to get it to read the files without me having to select them. Unfortunately, only the original, basic WPS will display. Any ideas? I did a clean install today and used the files from this site instead of Darky's in order to see if that was the problem, but it still doesn't work. Any help would be much appreciated.

The WPS you're using is invalid in some way. It either has broken syntax or uses features not supported in the build your using. When that happens, Rockbox defaults to the default WPS. Try another theme that doesn't require patches or has been updated to work correctly.

Thanks. Since I posted last I've gone through every WPS I have. The only ones that work are the ones that come with rockbox. Has there been some recent change to ockbox that has invalidated all of the other WPS files? I havn't heard of anyone else having this problem, so is it bossible that there is a config or viewer file somewhere that validates the wps that I may have accidentally changed?

There was a change to Rockbox that invalidates all WPSs with errors - not that recently (that was in spring if I remember correctly).

Before small syntax errors were ignored and the screen was displayed correctly, now Rockbox got stricter and if there are errors in the code the rockbox default WPS will be displayed. Most common errors are unclosed conditionals or not "escaped" | characters (you have to code it as "%|" if you just want to have it as character on the screen). Note that the album art syntax is an error to official Rockbox because it doesn't know about this code.

Search around a bit in the forums and the wiki and you'll find hints on how to debug your code.

Ok, thanks for the help. The problem started in the spring, so i bet that's it.
