USB on Sansa C200 does not work after Rockbox installation
pelle_malmoe:
Hi,
I've installed RockBox version r15006-071007 on my Sandisk Sansa C240 and I can not read the files on it via the USB port (both in the original firmware and Rockbox mode). Further Rockbox does not find my mp3-files either, but the original firmware does. I installed RockBox with sansapatcher from Win XP home SP2.
Please help me out.

The Sansas (both e200 and c200 series) do not have a native USB mode yet. Under Rockbox, they can detect the connection, but nothing more.
You have to use the original firmware to copy files. Hold down |

Hi.
Only a few of the files are wma DRM. The others are mp3 and wma. I also have runned the build database command and it says 500 files ... found, but none of the files can be played (show all files, is selected). Further, what about the USB-port? So, I could install Rockbox but I can not uninstall it because there is no USB support. Is that correct? Shouldn't there be a big warning that the USB port won't work after installation of the Rockbox SW.
Regards Pelle
Llorean:
USB should work fine in the original firmware, just use the dual boot function. If USB is not functioning in the original firmware, there's something else wrong, try restoring your device using Recovery Mode.
As for the Database, setting File View to All doesn't affect it. What do you mean by "none of the files can be played" because "File View" would be for seeing the files at all, and wouldn't affect whether or not you can play them, just whether you can find them using the filetree.

Llorean and I both just said that you can boot back into the original firmware to connect your Sansa to your PC. If you want to uninstall Rockbox, you can do it perfectly fine from the OF.
I believe one of the developers is working on a USB stack for Rockbox, which will give the Sansas and iPods a native USB mode. Until that time comes, just take advantage of dual booting for now.
