Ipod restarts with apple software...

(1/1)

mosbrickan:
i love rockbox!
i've been hating itunes and the original software since the beginning. just recently i found rockbox and that was it! flac support and many other great features! nice guys!

i only have one problem though:
when i plug the ipod into the usb port, it restarts with the apple software...
then i have to run the ipodpatcher to install it again.
...and the process repeats everytime i plug it in.

tip?

Ok, if you plug in the usb the Ipod will power up. Once Rockbox is started it will detect usb and reboot into disc mode. But I guess you're experiencing a completely different feature: if the hold switch is enabled during bootup it will start the Apple firmware. As plugging in usb powers up the Ipod it will logically start AppleOS if hold is enabled.

And the manual tells you that the hold switch boots AppleOS ...
