iPod Video - Reformatting to FAT32 Help with terminal needed!

I'm on a Mac Os X 10.4.9 computer. Wanting Rockbox on my ipod. and this has been pissing me off....

I'm trying to reformat my ipod and i've done the steps in the instructions (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IpodConversionToFAT32) up to step C

when i push all that stuff into the terminal, here is what i get...

dd: /dev/Leela: Permission denied

Leela is what i named my iPod and that file is in the Documents folder

please help, I am new to this!!!

Well, it doesn't seem like you have administrative rights in your terminal.  I am not sure how OSX does this, but you should be able to do something like "sudo" or "su" in the terminal.  A bit of Google searching would likely be good to figure out exactly how to get administrative rights.

Also not that (afaiu), it doesn't matter what you've called your ipod, the disk device will always be /dev/disk(n), where (n) is a number.

ipodpatcher --list should be able to tell you which device on your machine the ipod is.
