Salvaged 8GB Harddrive

i took apart my sisters old zen microphoto and i think the 8bg harddrive is still working, is there any use for it?

Seeing as it is a MicroDrive, it could be used as a drop-in replacement for an iPod Mini.  Any other speculation would be off-topic for Rockbox.

Does it have a CF connector or a ZIF connector? The ZIF connector is a flat cable while the CF connector is the same as a compactflash card.

its got like ona those ribbons, where it connects into a peice of plastic i have to flip with a screwdriver, much like the one in an ipod video


i dont know the technical word for it

Looking at its specs, it seems that it has a CF connector. Have you tried taking the blue rubber off? There will probably be a CF to ZIF adaptor there.

That's the CF connector.

You can use this Microdrive with the iPod mini.

Just remove the old Microdrive from the mini, and keep the connector ribbon that was attached to it.
