i need help now!!! ipod nano 1st gen

i installed rockbox and then i deleted it because i didnt like it so i connected my ipod to the computer and then i deleted the .rockbox folder. Now my ipod says

Error
can't load rockbox.ipod
File not found
Hold MENU+SELECT to
reboot then SELECT+PLAY
for disk mode


i did all that, i ran itunes, i tried chkdsk,rebooted it a couple times,then i went to manual and found out your supposed to change the firmware first and then delete the .rockbox folder.

what do i do?????

Just use boot into disk mode, then use ipodpatcher to uninstall.
