how to add files?

When I'm browsing the contents of my ipod, it suddenly shuts the window and when I look in my computer I can't see the drive.  I look at my ipod and its in disk mode with a checkmark showing : ok to disconnect.  Is there another way to browse the files?

I assume you mean browsing from your computer whilst your ipod is connected to it over USB?

In which case, no - not really.

Besides anything else - this isn't a question about installation, and nor is it in any way related to Rockbox as far as I can see.

Sounds like you have a USB problem on your computer.
