File Management
« on: October 11, 2007, 08:26:33 PM »
I am new to Rockbox and MP3 players but I have rockboxed a Sansa c240.
I understand the port is new and there is no manual yet so I am using the e200 manual.
The Sansa turns on the original firmware and I can then copy and paste music from my computer to the music file on the Sansa.
To delete music files with the original firmware running I have to delete them from a hidden file which frees up space. However when I listen to the Sansa I can still play them.
I have tried deleting old play lists by deleting tie .m3u files with the original firmware. Then I have disconnected the Sansa and the database has been updated. However when I then use the Sansa the playlists are still there and accessible.
Am I doing something wrong?
Should I reinstall Rockbox?
Is this a bug?
Regards,
John

Please don't ask the same question in multiple places. Read our guidelines, as they are enforced here.

As to your question: Playlists have nothing to do with the database. Deleting the playlist JUST deletes the playlist file, nothing else. Why not describe what you're expecting to happen?

I already answered to the post in the manual thread about two hours before you posted here. *I'm still wondering*

Please read the answer there and reply to my questions -- better answer them here as I think that's the more appropriate place (except the question about finding one manual and not the other). State exactly what you did and what you expected to happen, did you delete (1) the music files (2) on your player with the original firmware or on a computer? Did you at least check on a computer if the files are still there, maybe in hidden folders or the recycle bin?

At the moment it's more guesswork and I don't know how to help you.

Errr ...? There is a manual for the c200 available (which still has issues, so checking the e200 manual is a good idea) and it's available quite a while already.
