Just wondering if there is such an application / plugin for rockbox. Would be nice to do something useful during commute:)

what is the plug-in your looking for? if its a like a game you play doom as well as the other games that come on with rockbox... i think there might be other plugins out there but they are not supported by rockbox as of right now.

I don't believe anyone has put such a thing together - but it sounds like a nice idea. A perfect project for a newbie...

I think this would be a great plugin as well. Besides coding the plugin itself, it's also a matter of creating images of each character that can be displayed on-screen.

Wow, this is one of those very rare times that someone suggests a plugin that doesn't have to do with gaming... I'm actually happy to see this!

Great that there's a patch that allows this

However, i'm not that much of a power user and although i'm trying to compile rockbox myself with the patch, i'm not getting it working.
I haven't got the right tools under ubuntu and using vmware, i can't access the files on my pc so it's pretty useless compiling it if i can't put it on my mp3 player

Any chance this makes it into the svn?

Sorry, never mind that, already found a how-to that explains that part, only thing left is that i get errors when executing the generated makefile.
