Computer no longer detects ipod mini 2nd gen

Hi I've just installed rockbox and booted successfully on my ipod mini 2nd gen.  After unplugging my ipod for the first time and then plugging it back in again, a picture of a male usb jack appears on the screen for about a second and then it goes dark and blank.  My computer doesn't detect the ipod and it will only turn back on again if I use the toggle hold then menu + select sequence.

I've reset and replugged a bunch of times and tried restarting my computer to same results.


rbutilqt.exe and ipodpatcher.exe also do not detect the ipod so I can't uninstall the firmware.

It doesn't sound like it's properly entering Disk Mode.  Can you manually force it into Disk Mode with the proper key combination?

After restarting it using the reset sequence I tried holding Select + Play to enter Disk Mode as stated in the manual.  Then I plugged it in and got the same results.

I tried holding them for various lengths of time.  Maybe I'm not doing it correctly.

I was able to get the apple firmware up and delete the rockbox firmware that way.  Well maybe I'll try it again tomorrow because it was really cool until it stopped working  8-)
