Archos playback problem
« on: October 09, 2007, 09:42:38 PM »
Hello everyone,

I put Rockbox on my Archos Jukebox Recorder V1 a few weeks ago, but I haven't gotten to play with it until today. Doing so caused a problem to come up.

It seems that during playback, it will randomly mute and go into the root menu. I can select "resume Playback" and it will go back into my song, but a few seconds in (as long as it has taken to select resume, and for it to load). This happens really frequently and makes it impossible to use my player, as I have to hold it in my hand and continuously tell it to resume playing.

Is this a known bug in the firmware, or is it possible I've messed something up? Help would be appreciated.

It could be that your batteries are failing. When the batteries are bad, the voltage drops significantly when the hard drive operates. The button driver misinterprets the buttons, and falsely detects a Stop. Try another set of batteries.

What you say makes sense, because when the harddrive spun up is when it would quit. I'll try charging the batteries and see what happens.

What you said was true, charging the batteries caused the problem to stop. Seems like a bit of an odd bug though.

Thanks a lot for your help :)
