Removing Files and Making Playlists?
Thundaar:
I have a bunch of files that I don't want to listen to in Rockbox because they're Singing Lessons. I have them skipped on my Apple Firmware when in shuffle, but I can't make a playlist excluding these files because I don't know how to make a playlist and I don't know how to skip them.
Can someone help me out here?
Thanks
Chronon:
Here's the playlist section of the manual: http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-ipodvideo/rockbox-buildch4.html#x7-610004.4
However, since you have an iPod with obfuscated iTunes generated filenames working with playlists on the player becomes a bit more troublesome. One option would be to make the playlist in iTunes and export it to an .xml playlist. There are a number of applications that will then allow you to convert this .xml playlist into a more standard .m3u (or .m3u8) playlist, which Rockbox supports.
Thundaar:
I opened the iPod playlist I made in a new window. After this I went to file and then clicked on Export Library... From there I exported it to a remote location and after that I didn't know what to do.
I can't find the application you told me about either. I don't know how to convert it... I'll try to use the manual to put the playlist in Rockbox after that.
Chronon:
:-\
I get many hits if I search google for: convert itunes playlist m3u
And once you have the .m3u playlist you can simply drag-and-drop it onto your player.
Thundaar:
Yeah, I tried one thing that was on ericdaughtry's website, but it didn't work... It was the second time I tried it... There was nothing on google for the keywords you provided which worked and I tried convert xml to m3u and even then I got nothing. I checked all of the websites and nothing helpful was there.
Can you give me a step by step because I'm not really understanding what exactly I have to do to get the playlist working... Is there some sort of alternative?
