As said earlier in this Thread.. you have to put the original firmware as "OF.mi4" into the system folder, to be able to boot the Of with rockbox.

So does this mean the .mi4 file provided on the website (http://daniel.haxx.se/sansa/e200/rhapsody/rhapsody-1.0.2.31.zip) is incorrect or outdated?  I added the file and I even renamed the original (most current) Sandisk firmware in the system folder.  I have the same issue.

Bloodbath, I have a Sansa e280R.  I can use my original firmware using the firmware version 1.0.2.165.

I've reinstalled the bootpatcher and rockbox per the Windows instructions.  I still have the same problem when trying to use the original Sansa firmware.  Rockbox works fine.  Don't know what else to do  ???

Well, some people are having problems booting the OF. Not sure why though.

Because they installed a bootloader with this bug!

The sansa bootloaders and sansapatcher have been updated today so this should no longer happen!

I was wondering if they have been uploaded yet.  If they have, then I am still running into the same problem.

Have you verified that you're using sansapatcher 0.5?

Have you verified that you're using sansapatcher 0.5?

I'm not sure what the Sansapatcher is or how to use it.  From the directions provided here:

http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SansaE200RBootloaderPatching

there is no mention of the sansapatcher 0.5.  I guess this is why I'm confused.  I followed all the directions from this and the rockbox installation pages.  The e200tools link provided on the above mentioned page are from 08 Oct 07.  The actual pp5022.mi4 and and the file that must be converted to OF.mi4 do not appear to be new either.  If I am missing a step, please let me know.  However, I don't think I am doing it wrong since Rockbox can actually boot, but I admit I am no expert.

Anyway, thanks for any help that you can provide Bagder (and anyone/everone else).  I do appreciate it.

Sorry for confusing you (and myself). The R model installation is not done with sansapatcher (yet).

Try it again. The BL was fixed and re-uploaded yesterday.

Yeah, I reinstalled the new files and now it works fine.  I would like to say thanks to everyone who helped developed Rockbox.  It is the best firmware I've used on any music player I've owned.  Keep up the great work.

would anyone possibly know directions on how to do the bootloader patching using gparted because it is a little different than ubuntu.  I can't seem to access the files i need to start the process.  I used a card reader and put the files i needed on the memory stick but for some reason, i cannot find the location of the memory stick.  When it is done being mounted, it say it is under dev/4:0:0:1 or something similar to that but when i look under dev/, i cannot see the 4:0:0:1.  I must be doing something very wrong and i hope someone knows what that mistake is.
