iRiver H10 "Data Abort" regression?
(1/1)
MrAkai:
Hi I had a really old (like may 2007) build of rockbox on my H10 (I lost my charing usb cable and finally got around to getting a new one) and while there are nice new features in the latest builds, I keep getting the Data Abort (well I've gotten it at least twice, the other couple of times the LCD was off at the time so I'm just assuming).
I never got this in the older builds, so I'm guessing something changed that affects the PP based units?
Is there anything I can do to help get the problem debugged? Any way to trigger a core dump or something like that?
Thanks

Please note the following from our posting guidelines:
--- Quote ---It is now required that support requests include an identification of the SVN revision number of the build that you are running.
Thus, please include the revision number (e.g., r14180) of the official build that you are experiencing a problem when you report a problem or request help in this forums.

MrAkai:
My apologies, the build I saw with the data abort is 14998M-071005. It was installed by the rockbox tool. Before that I had had build 14997 and it did the abort as well. I don't have the old one's build #, just that it was downloaded march 15 2007. I know that 6+ months is a lot of time to cover, but I just wanted to ask if I could lend a hand as a user tracking it down.
Thanks

This sounds like you probably need to update your bootloader as well

Instructions should be the same as for the first installation like described in the manual (note: I don't have a H10, so if someone else knows exactly please step in). Maybe you could try to update the bootloader with the help of the RockboxUtility which should make the process pretty easy and which is also described in the installation instructions in the manual.
Edit: Just remembered another thing -- if you find a "rockbox.h10" (I think it was called this way before) or even a "rockbox.mi4" in the root of your player, it's probably an old one and you should delete it.
