Trouble understanding the manual regarding rockboy
Billdoe84:
I guess maybe I am unclear as to where I am opening the .gb or .gbc file from. I might just be confused when I did the pacman install I had to create a folder named pacman. I am wondering where I need to store the roms on the ipod. Do i drag them into a random folder? do I put them right inside the .rockbox folder, or do i create a new folder? and then the manual says to find the .gb from the file browser, but doesn't specify how. I have tried multiple locations and different attempts to access my .gbc files but to no avail. In answer to your question, yes that quote from the manual is a bit confusing for me as I am not super familiar with this sort of stuff as of yet and it doesn't answer the main questions I am asking. I really would just like to know where to store the files, and how to access them via the ipod. If there is no answer to that, and I'm just a dumby, then I apologize.

It doesn't matter. They can be anywhere.

Ok so, I take the .gb files and i just drag them anywhere in the /.rockbox folder.... then how do i access them? Again this is another point that was unclear in the manual. Thank you very much for your help.
LinusN:
You can put them anywhere on the player, but the .rockbox folder is probably the worst choice, since it is hidden with the default settings in the file browser.
You don't put the music in the .rockbox folder, do you?
Chronon:
It's just like viewing an image. Navigate to it (using the file browser) and select it. All viewers work the same in this respect and none of them care about where the file is stored.
If you don't know how to access the file browser then I have to assume that you didn't read the manual very carefullly:
--- Quote ---You can select whether to browse using the File Browser or the Database Browser by selecting either Files or Database in the Main Menu. If you choose the File Browser, the Show Files setting lets you select what types of files you wish to view. See section 7.3 for more information on the Show Files setting.
--- End quote ---
