Trouble understanding the manual regarding rockboy

(1/3) > >>

Billdoe84:
Hello.  From the manual, I understand that rockboy is not a program you can just run with the appropriate files in place.  However, I have a bunch of roms and I have no clue where to put them.  The manual doesn't specify this and neither does anything I can find online.  I have the roms, I merely don't know where to put them, and how to bring them up and running on my ipod 5g.  Please help.

Chronon:
It's a viewer.  Read this section:

8.3.  Viewers

while I appreciate the help, that merely restated what I had said.  While I understand that it is a viewer as you said, the manual is a bit light on the topic of where to put the .gb and the .gbc files (do I put them in the games folder for example?)  how do I access them from the menu? through the playlists? It really doesn't outright answer those questions in the manual.  Other than that the manual has been helpful.  I appreciate any help you can give. ???

Chronon:

--- Quote ---Viewers are plugins which are associated with specific file extensions. They cannot be run directly but are started by “playing” the associated file.
--- End quote ---

--- Quote ---Rockboy is a Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color emulator for Rockbox based on the gnuboy emulator. To start a game open a ROM file saved as .gb or .gbc in the file browser.
--- End quote ---

It doesn't matter where they are located.  Is there something unclear about the above phrasing?  We can improve it if it's somehow ambiguous.

Actually, I think the Default Keys section on Rockboy needs fixing. It currently only says:

KeyActionSelectStartHold SelectOpen Rockboy menu
First off, it's missing most of the keys. Secondly, "Hold Select" does not go into the Rockboy menu, Flicking the "Hold" switch on is the proper way to do that - that took me 2 weeks to figure out :-[
